Health and Hope's operation runs on a single Claris FileMaker system covering every village, every health worker, every medical record and every outreach visit — with custom reports, automated reminders and a full audit trail.

In the field, the same system works offline on devices carried by community health workers. Records captured deep in remote villages sync back to the central system when devices return to base — so data is captured in one uniform way, wherever the work happens.

The challenge

Health and Hope supports a community-led health network across remote parts of Myanmar — villages, community health workers, traditional birth attendants, area coordinators, medical records, outreach visits and equipment, all needing to be tracked reliably. Before the FileMaker system, that work was spread across paper records and spreadsheets.

The terrain is unforgiving: many villages are days of travel from the nearest office, and connectivity in the field is unreliable at best. The team needed one system that could run both from the UK office and offline on devices in Myanmar — and bring all of the data back together into a single, auditable source of truth.
