FileMaker Licensing Overview
Option 1: FileMaker Licensing for Teams!
FileMaker Licensing for Teams is a simple way for teams of 5 or more people to license FileMaker software. FileMaker Licensing for Teams includes FileMaker Server and User Connections for your team to access your systems through FileMaker Pro (for User Connections), FileMaker Go or FileMaker WebDirect. This is the most popular method of licensing FileMaker.
Option 2: Legacy FileMaker Licenses!
With Legacy Licensing, you can purchase licenses of FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Pro Advanced, and FileMaker Server in any quantity required. For use with FileMaker Go and FileMaker WebDirect, your FileMaker Server license must have the relevant number of concurrent connections. For more information contact us or FileMaker Inc directly.
Option 3: Individual FileMaker Licenses!
Individual FileMaker Pro licenses are available for desktop users, best suited for people who are using FileMaker without a server environment to access standalone systems and apps.
Annual or Purchase?
Smart Wolf always recommend Annual Licensing over Perpetual (Buy out-right) Licensing. During the Annual Licensing contract, you will get upgrades to the latest version of FileMaker for free. This means that you can always be up to date with new releases.
Perpetual Licensing is three times the cost of an Annual License therefore you will only see a return on investment after 3 years when compared to the annual agreement, in which time you may have missed FileMaker releases as updating for free is not included.
FileMaker License Pricing
Below is the current pricing for FileMaker 16, on the annual agreement for teams. This is Smart Wolf’s recommended method of licensing for teams of 5+ in a hosted environment. The number of users referrs to concurrent connections from either FileMaker Pro (User Connections), FileMaker Go or FileMaker WebDirect.
